About
Founded by Coach Kareem Gumbs, YKQ Basketball and K3 Camps were created with one mission in mind — to build elite athletes on and off the court.
Born in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands and raised in San Marcos, Texas, Coach Kareem’s basketball journey spans over 14 years as a player and leader. After a life-changing surgery ended his playing career, his passion for the game shifted toward a new purpose: empowering the next generation through faith-driven, high-impact training.
In March 2018, Kareem launched YKQ Basketball — short for Young Kings and Queens — as a way to mentor youth through structured, high-level skill development. From local gyms to championship AAU teams, his training has helped athletes unlock confidence, discipline, and excellence both on and off the court.
To expand that vision globally, K3 Camps was born. K3 stands for Kingdom. Knowledge. Kulture. — and it represents more than basketball. K3 is about restoring the joy of the game while teaching core fundamentals, life lessons, and faith-based values. Through immersive camps and clinics around the world, K3 is bringing back passion, purpose, and play to the sport.
Coach Kareem believes that growth isn’t just physical — it’s spiritual, mental, and emotional. That’s why YKQ and K3 are more than training programs. They are movements built to develop leaders, inspire communities, and spark transformation in every athlete.
